The city needed The Redhead's assistance.
See that boat?
See those pieces?
And that cockroach?
Also, all solar.
The Redhead thoroughly enjoyed all of these fun toys.
Mister Man chatted with the solar boat boys for a bit. Apparently they made the boat as a project in their Physics class in High School.
Then in order to learn about watersheds, children had the opportunity to spray different colors all over this plastic city.
They also had an activity with beads to make bracelets. Each bead represented something, starting with white for the clouds, and black for storms.
When I taught preschoolers, one of our favorite activities involved marbles, paint, and pie tins. It works with canvases and ten year olds too.
While the old powerhouse was cool, I also enjoyed this jungle-like environment surrounding it.
The Redhead seemed to enjoy all of the different exhibits.
We made this friend on a walking trail on our way closer to the always beautiful American River.
And check out that lovely view.
Of the bridge too.
That building right there? One of our favorite restaurants, Sudwerks. We had lunch there today, after the fair.
That duck was coming for us.
Tadpoles!
I was really excited when I saw this tiny little kayak with a young child inside!
So, it was only a matter of time before someone slipped in the mud and into the water.
And it didn't stop her from sitting inside a lovely electric car. Hopefully she was fairly dry by then.
This was an amazing little fair and I'm really glad we took the time to check it out. The Folsom Powerhouse is definitely worth a visit.
