The Redhead had her first day of school today. She has been so ecstatic to get back to school. Not that she hasn't had an enjoyable summer. But she was definitely ready to return to the grind. After days of fitting in a haircut (which did not go as well as planned, no thanks to a hateful stylist at a kid's salon we tried), buying new tennis shoes (which also didn't go as planned as Kohl's only had two pairs in The Redhead's size), and grabbing last minute school supplies (as we just received our supply list yesterday!), the day was finally here. The items were labeled, the backpack was packed, the lunchbox had a lunch in it, and The Redhead was on her way to Fifth Grade. With my camera in tow, of course.
With her Fifth Grade teacher.
Our fireplace is STILL decorated from our party we had three weeks ago.
A party I have never blogged about.
And since I just know a certain Mother-in-Law of mine is going to want to know what was in the cellophane, here it is:
She survived her first day of fifth grade. And even though she wasn't thrilled that most of her friends are in another class, she seemed to like her new teacher. She also learned that they will now have MUSIC. This is a big deal for us because our school did not have music and we have missed it terribly. So, The Redhead is back to school. Now hopefully this means I'll be blogging more....but don't hold your breath.
